Obituary of James H "Jimmy" Anderson Jr ~ 2004

James H. "Jimmy" Anderson, Jr., age 77, of Watha died Sunday, March 21,
2004, at his daughter's residence.
He was born April 4, 1926, in Pender County and was the son of the late
James H. Anderson, Sr. and Mae White Anderson. He was predeceased by his
wife, Pauline Padgett Anderson; son, Jack Padgett; sister, Ann A. Lakins;
and brother, Marvin T. Anderson.
Mr. Anderson and his wife Pauline, owned and operated Anderson?s Grocery
and Grill for over twenty-five years. He was a member of Poston Baptist
Church. Serving his country honorably, he was a veteran of WW II.
Surviving are his daughter, Nancy McMillan and her husband Samuel, of
Watha; son, Wayne Padgett and his wife Carlene, of Rocky Point;
daughter-in-law, Sylvia Padgett of Burgaw; sisters, Doris A. Cottle of
Watha and Susie A. Adkins and her husband Jim of Burlington; six
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces
including a special niece, Joan Rooks; and a special friend, Lou
Majstorich.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Poston Baptist Church with the
Rev. Todd Horton and the Rev. Baris Lanier officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 7:00 to 8:30 PM Monday at Quinn-McGowen
Funeral Home, Wallace.
The family suggest that memorial gifts be given to Poston Baptist Church,
4121 NC Hwy. 11 South, Wallace NC 28466 or to Duplin Home Care and Hospice,
PO 887, Kenansville NC 28349.
