Wilmington -- Mr. Ivey Liston Lanier, 88, of 4400 Jasmine Cove Way, 
Wilmington, died Friday, January 13, 1995, in New Hanover Regional Medical 
Center.
Mr. Lanier was born in Wallace, N.C., on January 4, 1907, and was the son 
of the late John and Nannie Elizabeth Lanier. He was retired from the 
Babcock and Wilcox Company and was a member of the Springview Pentecostal 
Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Carlton Lanier of Lakeland, Fla.; three daughters, 
Linda Faye Stroh of Beaufort, S.C., Marilyn Jane Mathis of Wilmington, and 
Margaret Elizabeth Laws of Bolivia; a brother, Albert Lanier of Detroit, 
Mich.; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 1995, at 1 p.m. in 
the Springview Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church with the Reverend Cary 
Horrell officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Coble Ward-Smith, Oleander Chapel on 
Sunday evening from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at other time will be at 409 
Cape Fear Blvd., Wilmington, home of Marilyn Jane Mathis.
Memorials may be made to the Yahweh Center, 1924 Wrightsville Ave., 
Wilmington, N.C. 28403.
