Obituary of Hanna Mae Bell Manning ~ 1953

Greenville, Oct. 31--Mrs. Hanna Mae Bell Manning, 44, died in Lenoir 
County Memorial Hospital, Kinston, at 3:30 p.m. Friday after suffering a 
stroke a few hours earlier. 
She was born in Lenoir County, daughter of the late Bessie Herring and Sam 
Carlyle. In 1937 she was married to Eugene Manning. 
She was a member of the Dallas Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. 
Surviving in addition to her husband, of LaGrange, are one daughter, Naomi 
Manning of the home; one son, Norman Manning of the home; four sisters, 
Mrs. Bessie Hardison and Mrs. Louise Skinner, both of Kinston, Mrs. Rosa 
Vension of Goldsboro, and Mrs. Annie Grimes of Trenton; five half-sisters, 
Mrs. Blanche Smith, Mrs. Elizabeth Daniels and Mrs. Ava Best, all of 
Goldsboro, Mrs. Suzan Sowers of Snow Hill, and Mrs. Lula Martin of 
Jacksonville; and one brother, Samuel Carlyle, with the U. S. Marines in 
Japan. Funeral arrangements will be announced.
