Obituary of G. W. Pearsall, 1959

G. W. Pearsall, Local Negro, Dies at 61
     G. W. (Doctor) Pearsall, 61 yeard old Smithfield Negro, died this (Tuesday) 
morning at 6:15 in Johnston Memorial Hospital following a long illness.

     He was a native of Duplin County and had made his home in Smithfield since 
the early 1940's.  He was educated in the public schools at Kenansville.

     Brocks Funeral home in Clinton is handling the funeral arrangements.

     Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Dora Pearsall White and Mrs. James H. 
Bryant, both of Smithfield, and Mrs. Jannie Ruth Gaddy of Fayetteville, three sons, 
Willard, Isaiah, and Rivers Pearsall, all of New York City; one brother, Matthews 
Pearsall of Florida; eight sisters, Mrs. Hattie Stanley of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. 
Hazel Weatherspoon, Mrs. Cora Lee Hall, Mrs. Nancy Furlow, Mrs. Blanche Bryant, 
Mrs. Nacy Cooper, Mrs. Thelma Williams, and Mrs. Gerdy Lindell, all of Rose Hill, 
and six grandchildren.
