Obituary of Floyd Dewey English ~ 1986

Wallace - Floyd Dewey English, age 81, of Rt. 3, Wallace, died Thursday
night at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from the Northeast
Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Clyde Shelton.
Burial will follow in Cavenaugh Cemetery, Rt. 2, Wallace.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Gavin English; two daughters,
Mrs. Roland (Lucy) James and Mrs. James (Annie Laura) Kelley, both of
Wallace; one son, Aubine English of Wallace; two sisters, Mrs. Berta
Cavenaugh and Mrs. Virginia Sissell, both of Wallace; two brothers, Waitus
C. English of Hampstead and Butler English of Ivanhoe; seven grandchildren
and 14 great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. English was the son of the late Fennell and
Minnie Cavenaugh English. He was a retired barber and was a member of the
Northeast Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be: James Floyd Kelley, Larry Kelley, Billy Carr, Jon
Sykes, Stanley Cavenaugh and W.C. English. Honorary bearers will be: David
Boney, Lloyd Lanier, Bob Edmond, Jim Graham, Henry Carter and Raymond
English.
The family received at the Edgerton Funeral Home in Wallace from 7:30 to
8:30 p.m. Friday and will be at their residence, Rt. 3, Wallace other
times.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 12:30 p.m. Saturday when
it will be taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior the service.
