Obituary of Emma Lee Barnette ~ 2004

KENANSVILLE -- Emma Lee Barnette, 84, died Monday at Duplin General 
Hospital in Kenansville.
She was the daughter of the late Edward Barnette and Barbara Jane Grady of 
Duplin County and was the widow of Laudy M. Barnette.
She is survived by eight children, Jimmy Barnette of Teachey, Leslie 
Barnette, Billy Barnette, Henry Barnette, Dorothy Barnette Whaley, 
Henrietta Barnette Whaley, and Kathy Barnette Kearns of Kenansville and 
Linda Barnette White of Arkansas; and 17 grandchildren and 15 great-
grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Community 
Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Devotional Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7 until 9 at Community
Funeral Home and other times at the home of Dorothy and Nathan Whaley, 152 
Pearsall Chapel Road, Kenansville.
