Obituary of Elma Allen Southerland Lee ~ 1978

Ivanhoe - Mrs. Elma Allen Southerland Lee, of Route 1, died Saturday at 
Pender Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. A native of Henderson, 
who was the daughter of the late Joshua Fuquay and Mamie Inez Quinn Allen.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. from the Poston 
Baptist Church in Wallace, with the Rev. Joseph Willis and the Rev. Ray 
Hodge officiating. 
Burial will be in the Clay Hill Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, George W. Lee of the home; three daughters, 
Mrs. Mickey Evans of Farmville, Mrs. Sylvia Brown of New Bern and Mrs. 
Judy Armstrong of Pine Bluff; two sons, Gerald Southerland of Greenville, 
and Pat Southerland of Washington, N.C.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Betty 
Croom of Wrightsville Beach, and Mrs. Mamie Lee Phillips of Whiteville; 
two sisters, Mrs. Inez King and Mrs. Dona Jones, both of Kinston; one 
brother, Thomas Allen of Lowland, Tenn.; and 15 grandchildren.
The body will remain at the Quinn-McGowan Funeral Home until noon Monday 
when it will be taken to church.
