Wallace - Mr. Elbert Quinton Sholar age 80 of 305 Lighthouse Road in 
Wallace died early Thursday morning December 10, 1998, at the Brian Center 
of Wallace.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 1998, 
from the Lighthouse Family Worship Center conducted by Rev. Jim Brinkley 
and Rev. Roland Penny. 
Burial will follow in the Lighthouse Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara Bell Sholar, one daughter, Mrs. 
Juanita Maynard of Wallace and three sons, Durand Sholar of Leland, 
Wendell Sholar and I.B. Sholar both of Wallace and one sister, Mrs. Hazel 
Lanier of Wallace, fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren 
and two great-great-grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mr. Sholar was the son of the late Ervin and 
Daisy Cavenaugh Sholar.
Casketbearers will be Jackie Sholar, Jeff Sholar, Justin Sholar, Brian 
Sholar, Danny Sholar and Timmy Sholar. Honorary bearers will be Todd 
Hayes, Dan Hayes, Marty Shepard, Thurman Parker Jr., Otis Bass, Jonathan 
Gregory, Morrison Sholar and Richard Sholar.
The family will receive at the Lighthouse Family Worship Center from 7:00 
to 9:00 p.m. Friday and will be at their residence, 305 Lighthouse Road, 
Wallace other times.
