Effie Evelyn Carter Straughn, 82, of Richlands, died Wednesday. Funeral 
2 p.m. Friday, Jones Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville. Burial, Onslow 
Memorial Park.
Surviving: daughters, Ruth Hamborsky and Helen Carroll of Beulaville, 
Grace Yuhas of Swansboro, Doris Lambert of Speedwell, Tenn.; son, Gus 
Straughn of Rose Hill; sister, Etta Carter of Kenansville; 17 
grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild.
