Obituary of Carrie Cavenaugh Watkins ~ 2003

Mrs. Carrie Cavenaugh Watkins age 93 of Liberty Commons died Saturday,
February 15, 2003.
Mrs. Watkins was born in New Hanover County, January 26, 1910, and was
the daughter of the late Jacob Woodley Cavanaugh and Ella Maxwell
Cavenaugh. She was wife of the late Curtis W. Watkins and mother of the
late Betty Jean Watkins Nash.
She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Fannie Ella Cavenaugh;
five sisters, Minnie Cavenaugh, Nolan Cavenaugh, Louise Kelly, Sadie Lee
Yopp, Mary Pearl Bonham; two brothers, Jacob Wood Cavenaugh Jr. and Louis
Adolph Cavenaugh.
Mrs. Watkins was a lifelong member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist
Church and the Order Of The Eastern Star.
She is survived by a brother, Johnny Cavenaugh of Bolivia; two sisters,
Magnolia C. Mintz and Ida Mae Guthrie both of Wilmington.
Funeral sevices will be held Monday, February 17, 2003, at 3:00 PM at
Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel with Reverend Steve
Hall officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ronald A. Smith, Ronald A. Smith Jr., Morrision
"Morry" B. Watkins Jr., Johnny Yopp, Howard Mintz, Andy Eason.
Honorary pallbearers will be William Aubrey Smith, Morrision B. Watkins
Sr., Marvin W. Watkins Sr., Rod Nash, Reverend Winfield Kelly.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 this evening at Coble Ward-Smith
Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel.
