Obituary of Bertha Carroll Stroud Raynor ~ 1987

Bertha Stroud Raynor, age 64, died Sunday night, Dec. 13, at her 
residence on Route 2, Wallace, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 2:00 p.m. from the 
Northeast P.F.W.B. Church, conducted by the Rev. R. W. Pierce and the 
Rev. Clyde Shelton. Burial followed in the Cavenaugh Cemetery, Route 2, 
Wallace.
She is survived by one son, Lawrence W. Hall of Lilburn, Ga.; one sister, 
Mrs. Cliff (Esther) Jones of Wallace; and four grandchildren.
A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Raynor was the daughter of the late 
Carl L. and Melva Cavenaugh Stroud and was the widow of Herman W. Raynor. 
She was employed at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw for several years 
before her retirement and was a member of the Northeast P.F.W.B. Church.
Casketbearers were Buck Rich, Aaron Cavenaugh, John David Cavenaugh, 
Stanley Cavenaugh, Ralph Jones and Clifton G. Jones.
The family received at the Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace from 7:00 to 
9:00 p.m. Tuesday and were at the residence of Mrs. Cliff (Esther) Jones 
other times.
The body remained at the funeral home until 12:00 noon Wednesday when it 
was taken to the church to lie in state one hour prior the service.
