Obituary of Atwood Hayes Lee ~ 1977

Beulaville - Atwood Hayes Lee, 61, died Thursday night in the Veterans 
Administration Hospital in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be held 
Saturday at 4 p.m. from the Edgerton Funeral Chapel in Beulaville 
conducted by the Rev. Ralph Kennedy. 
Burial will follow in the Jeff Lanier Cemetery at Lyman.
Surviving are his wife, Xyldia Duff Lee; two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Lee 
Tyndall of Pink Hill and Mrs. Georgia Lee Wood of Beulaville; a son, 
Bobby A. Lee of Beulaville; one brother, Roy S. Lee of Beulaville; two 
half-brothers, Jepsey Pickett of Kinston and Russell Pickett of Mt. 
Olive; three step-sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Rouse of Mt. Olive, Mrs. Dollie 
Brown of Wallace and Mrs. Edna Rouse of Florida, and five grandchildren.
A native of Lenoir County, he was the son of the late Volney and Annie 
Beulah Cavenaugh Lee. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World 
War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
Casketbearers will be D.W. Duff, Thomas Duff, Jerry Pickett, James 
Futrell, Roger Pickett and Mickie Kennedy.
Honorary bearers will be Tommie Kennedy, Osbourne Duff, Gerald Pickett 
and David Duff.
