Pictured in large picture is John Sandlin son of Waxel and Celia Whaley Sandlin Born Feb. 1863
in Duplin County North Carolina.
John's first Wife was Susan Dunn Daughter of George Washington Dunn. Susan died after the
birth of Mattie Susan Sandlin (My Grandmother) who was born 15 April 1892. John then married
Georgiana Dunn the lady in the middle picture with the apron also the daughter of George
Washington Dunn and had the following issue:
Sally, Frank, Louisana (Lodie), George Washington, John W., and James B.
Waxel's mother's name was Elizabeth Sandlin born aprox. 1794, the Daughter of Nicholas
Sandlin. His father's name was Issac Whaley. His parents never married.
The third person in the far right is my Grandfather Marshal Benjamin Dunn born 7 July 1889
who was the son of Henderson Boyett Dunn and Martha Sullivan Dunn.

She died Oct. 11, 1968 at Magnolia (Duplin Co.)

my father Moses Benjamin Dunn (Mose), and the one trying to run is

Henry James Dunn was taken, according to my father Moses Dunn, on a
stack of firewood used to cure tobacco approximately in the winter of
1940. Their home at this time was close to Bowden.

Henry James Dunn was taken in the Philipines. My father said Uncle
Henry had joined the army close to the end of the war so he had to
serve on after the war was over to help the Japanese adjust to the
American authority.

Henderson was born son of a Baptist Minister George Washington Dunn and Susan Lassiter In
Johnston County North Carolina George Washington left his family farm at Four Oaks North
Carolina and moved to Duplin County to preach at Sarecta Church. The Johnston County farm
was sold and his brothers, sisters, and mother moved to Duplin County to be with George
Washington. The Brothers and Sisters of Henderson Boyett Dunn are Moses Jackson, Preston
Union, Georgiana, Doctor Benjamin, Susan, and George W. Jr.
Jan. 6, 1857. Martha was born the Daughter of a Duplin County Prominent farming family Elisha
Sullivan and Nancy Jane Blalock Sullivan Jan 4, 1864. Her siblins were Merrill, Nancy,
Winnefred, Sarah, Mary, Lucritia, Elizabeth, Marshall, Catherine, and James.
They were married December 22 1880 and she was a young thing that couldn't leave her mother.
My dad has a lot of fond memories of both of them.

This is a photo of my mother and father Moses and Lora Dunn.
Moses Benjamin Dunn born the son of Marshal Benjamin Dunn and
Mattie Susan Sandlin Dunn born October 3, 1920 in Duplin County
North Carolina. He marrid Lora Inez Nichols September 8, 1946 at
Tifton County Georgia.
Lora was born the daughter of Jefferson Davis Nichols and Lonie
Addis Bryan Nichols of Tifton Georgia September 7, 1928.
Pvt. Moses Dunn and Pvt.Walter Bryan Nichols, moms brother, were
both wounded and met on the Hospital ship. They both were sent to
the same Veteran's hospital at Camp Butner North Carolina. They were
both assigned the same ward. As fate would have it Mose and Lora
met during her visit to her brother in the winter of 1945.

My Sister Brenda Dunn. The next row starting left to right with white hair and extended tongue
is myself David B. Dunn (Son of Moses and Lora Dunn. Allen Dunn (son of Henry and Liza Dunn) is next with overalls .

Stephen Dunn (son of John [Jabo] and Leona Dunn). Girl showing her flarry tailed dress is Nelda

Second Photo was taken and Aunt Minnie Dunn Quinn's funeral at Quinn's cemetery between
Magnolia and Kennansville all Cousins.
