William O'Daniel To Samuel Tanner
Deed for 100 acres lands
This indenture made thirethind day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and eighty five, between William O'Daniel of the State of North Carolina & County
of Duplin of the one part, and Samuel Tanner of the same State & County as aforesaid of the
other part. Winesseth, that for & in consideration of the sum of twenty four pounds specie
money to me William O'Daniel in hand paid by Samuel Tanner before the ensealing and delivery
of these presents, the receipt whereof I acknowledge myself to be satisfied & paid every part
& parcel thereof, therefore have given granted bargained sold and conveyed, and by these presents
do fully and freely absolutely alien convey and confirm unto Samuel Tanner his heirs executors
administrators and assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of land sittuate lying and being
in the Counry of Duplin aforesaid, lying and being on the No. side of No. East of Cape Fear on
the uper side of Smith's Branch lying between Theophilus Williams's line and joining the said
branche's being part of two hundred acres of land taken up by Jesse Barefield joining Kornegay's
lines and Stepen Barelield's line, containing one hundred acres be the same more or less. To
have and to hold to the said Samuel Tanner his heirs executors administrators and assigns,
togeather with all the advantages woods ways water & courses and as for my part the aforesaid
William O'Daniel my heirs executors administrators and assigns doth hereby covenant promise and
engage unto the said Samuel Tanner his heirs executors administrators and assigns that they shall
peacebly and quietly hold use occupie and enjoy the aforesaid land and premises with all the
appurtenances and priviledges to the same belonging free and clear of all incumbrances whatsoever
& as for me the aforesad William O'Daniel my heirs executors administrators and assigns will
forever warrent & defend the aforesaid land and premises as aforesaid to Samuel Tanner his heirs
executors adminstrators and assigns against the lawfull clame or clames of any person or persons
whatsoever. In witness whereof I have set my hand and fixed my seal the day & date first written.
