(Transcribed by Diane Siniard) Deed Book E Page 434, 435, & 436 William Whitfield To John Kitly Deed Sundry Lands This Indenture made this ____ of August in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and Eighty nine. Between William Whitfield of the County of Wayne and State No. Carolina of the one part and Keatly of the same County and State of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Whitfield for and in Consideration of the Naturall Love and affection which I have and do bear to my Daughter Elizabeth Keatly and for divers other good causes thereunto moving hath given granted and Confirmed and do by these presents give grant and Confirm unto the said John Keatly the following messuage Tracts or parcels of Lands situate lying and being in County of Duplin in the State aforesaid and on the No. East Branch of Cape fair towit one certain Tract or parcel of Land containing one hunded and fifty acres of Land I purchased of Robert Warran Lying in the fork of North East and Lewis Branch and Near of Joining George Kornegays Lands also one other Tract or parcel of Land containing four hundred acres Joining the above and Jacob Kornegays lines and on both side of the main Road being a Patten granted by his Excellency Richard Caswell to the said William Whitfield Bearing date 17th day of September 1788. Also one other messuage or parcel of Land Containing Sixty six acres of Land I purchased by Deed of Sale from Robert Warren in the fork of the Horsepen Branch and poley Bridge being part of the Land that George Kornegay now liveth on also one other messuage Tract of Land Containing one hundred and fifty acres of Land Joining the above sixty six acres being a patten granted to the said William Whitfield by his Excellency. Josiah Marten Bearing date 22nd of July 1774. Containing in the several Tracts or parcels of Lands Containing seven hundred and sixty six acres of Land be the same more or less and Bounded as by the plans of the said several Tracts non Remaining of Record Reference being thereto had will more fully and at Large appear Together with all Houses Buildings and Out Houses Gardens Orchards ways water and Courses Woods and under Woods to the said Several Tracts or parcels of Land belonging or in any wise appurtaining and the said Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders of all and Singular the above mentioned Tracts or parcels of Land and Every of them and of every part and parcel thereof and all Rents Issued Services and profits to them or any of them or any part or parcel of them or any of them belonging or appurtaining to the said William Whitfield into or of the said Lands or Heridittaments and premises and Every parcel and part thereof To have and To hold the said Several Tracts or parcels of Lands and premises hereby given and granted and Confirmed and Every part or parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtainances unto the said John Keatly his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use Benefit and behoof of him the said John Keatly his heirs and assigns Forever and the said William Whitfield Doth warrant secure and forever Defend the said Lands and premises from him his heirs Executors administrators or assigns. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this day and date above written. Signed Sealed and Delivered In the presence of William Whitfield George Kornegays William Herring State of No. Carolina Duplin County January Term 1792 Then was the within Deed proved in open Court by the oath of George Kornegay and ordered to be Registered.
