William Bizzel To Elisha Jernagan Deed 19 July 1785

(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 198, & 199 William Bizzel To Elisha Jernagan Deed for 80 acres lands This indenture made this nineteenth day of July in the year or our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty five, between William Bizzel of the County of Duplin and State of No. Carolina of the one part, and Elisha Jernagan of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said William Bizzel for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds specie, to him in hand paid before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, hath given granted bargained & sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien convey and confirm unto the said Elisha Jernagan his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Duplin on the north side of white oak branch, buted & bounded as followeth. Begining at a large maple in white oak branch and runing No. 85 Et. to and along Blanshard's line 80 pole to a small red oak, thence No. 15 Et. 82 pole to a white oak & red oak on Nicholas Bowden's line, thence along his line to Hoop pole branch and down the various courses of said branch, to white oak branch, thence down the run as it meanders to the begining containing by estimation eighty acres be the same more or less, being granted by a patent to the said William Bizzel and now by him conveyed to the Elisha Jernagan as by this doth appear. To have & to hold the above bargained premises with all the appertenances & previledges to the same belonging, with all houses & out houses gardens orchards fences ways and waters thereunto belonging on any ways appertaining to him the said Elisha Jernagan his heirs and assigns forever to his and their proper use benefit & behoofe forever and the said Elisha Hernagan his heirs and assigns forever shall and may from time to time and at all times hereafter by free virtue of these presents lawfully peacebly and quietly have hold occupie & enjoy the above bargained premises with all the appurtenances to the same belonging freely and clearly acquittted from all manner of gifts grants bargains sales leases wills mortgages or intails or any other incumbrance whatsoever, and I the said William Bizzel warrant and forever defend tha above batgained premises to the said Elisha Jernagan his heirs and assigns forever from the lawfull clame or clames of me my heirs and assigns and every of them forever. In witness, whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this day and date above written. William Bizzel Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of us D. Glisson John Gibbs Duplin County July Court 1785.
