Thomas Adkison To Frederick Rivenbark
Deed for 50 acres lands
This indenture made the eighteenth day of March one thousand seven hundred & eighty
six. Between Frederick Rivenbark of the one part & Thomas Adkison of the other part,
witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds currency to me in hand
paid by the said Frederick Rivenbark at or before the sealing or delivery of these presents,
the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge & therefore doth release acquit & discharge
the said Frederick Rivenbark his executors & administrators by these presents he the said
Thomas Adkison hath granted bargained & sold alined & confirmed & by these presents doth
grant bargain sell alien & confirm untot he said Frederick Rivenbark & his heirs a certain
piece or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County of Duplin & State of North
Carolina, bounded as followeth. Begining at the run of Buck Hall swamp runing west eighty
pole to a stake, then South thirty three East forty four pole to a red oak, then South thirty
eight East twenty six pole to the run of said swamp near the marsh of Cow Branch, thence up
the run of said swamp as it meanders to the begining, containing in the whole fifty acres be
the same more or less, & all houses buildings orchards ways water courses profits commodities
hereditaments & appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises hereby granted or any other part
thereof belonging or in any wise appertaining & the reversion and reversions & remainder &
remainders, rents issues & profits thereof, & also one other tract or parcel of land containing
twenty acres bounded as follows, adjoining the aforsaid fifty acres. Begining at the run of
Buck Hall at the mouth Cow Branch, runing down the said swamp to Possom Run, then up the south
prong of Possom run to his old line, then down the said line to Buck Hall, then to the begining
& also all estate right title interest use trust property claim & demand whatsoever of him the
said Frederick Rivenbark of in and to the said premises, and all deeds evidences & writings
touching or in any wise concerning the same. To have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed, &
all & singular other the premises hereby bargained & sold & every part and parcel thereof with
their & every of their appurtenances unto the said Frederick Rivenbark his heirs and assigns
forever, to the only proper use & behoofe of him the said Frederick Rivenbark & of his heirs
and assigns forever, & the said Thomas Adkison for himself his heirs executors & administrators,
doth covenant promise and grant to and with the said Frederick Rivenbark his heirs and assigns
by these presents that the said Thomas Adkison now at the time of sealing and delivering these
presents is seized of a good sure perfect & indefeasible estate of inheritance in fee simple of
in and thes premises hereby bargained and sold, and that he has good power and lawfull and
absolute authority to grant and convey the same to the said Frederick Rivenbark in manner and
form aforesaid, and that the said premises now on & so forever hereafter shall remain and be
free and clear of and from all former gifts grants bargains sales dower right and title of dower
judgments executors titles troubles charges and incumbrances whatsoever, made done committed or
suffered by the said Thomas Adkison or any other person or persons whatsoever, the taxes which
shall hereafter become due excepted, and that the said Thomas Adkison & his heirs all and singular
the premises hereby bargained & sold with the appurtenances unto the said Frederick Rivenbark
his heirs and assigns, him the said Thomas Adkison & his heirs and all & every person or persons
whatsoever, shall warrant & forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said Thomas
Adkison hereunto set his hand & seal the day & year first above written.
