Stephen Wallis To Harper Williams
Bill of Sale for two Negros
State of North Carolina Duplin County
Know all men by these presents that I Stephen Wallis for the valuable consideration of
the sum of seven hundred dollars to me in hand paid or arranged to be paid have bargained
& sold to Harper Williams my Negro boys Starky and Lewis Starky about ten years of age &
Lewis about six years of age to him & to his heirs forever & I do hear by bind myself my
heirs Executors administrators to warrent the lawful title of the said Starky & Lewis free
from any incumbrances or Enulean In witness taken of I hereunto set my hand and affix my
seal this 29th day of March AD 1839

the execution of the within Bill of sale is duly proved in open Court by the oath of James
Pearsall the subscribing witness thereto & is ordered to be registered
