Samuel Sandlin To Henry Newkirk
Deed 195 acres
This Indenture made this 3rd Day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred and ninety one. Between Samuel Sandlin Senior of the County of Duplin and State of North
Carolina of the one part and Henry Newkirk of the same County and State aforesaid of the other
part. Witnesseth that Samuel Sandlin for Divers good causes and considerations him thereunto
moving but more Especially for and In Consideration of the sum of fifty two pounds specie to him
in hand paid before the sealing and Delivery hereof the Receipt whereof he Doth hereby acknowledge
and himself therewith to be fully satisfied and contented and thereof and therefrom Doth hereby
aquit the aforesaid Henry Newkirk his heirs Excrs. Administrators and assigns hath bargained sold
Enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and hath by these presents for himself his heirs Executors Admrs.
hath and Doth fully freely and absolutely bargain sell Enfeoffe convey and confirm unto the said
Henry Newkirk his heirs and assigns one certain tract or parcell of Land containing by Estimation
one Hundred and five acres lying and being in the Conty of Duplin and State of North Carolina on
the East side of the No. East River joining of John Brocks and Francis Brices lines begining at a
Lightwood tree called Brices Corner thence No. 75 Wt. 108 poles to a pine thence So. 25 Wt. 30 poles
to a stake on John Brocks line thence with the same So. 40 Et. 80 poles to a pine thence No. 80 Et.
76 poles to a pine thence No. 15 Et. 117 poles to a stake thence to the begining. To have and to
hold the said one Hundred and five acres of land and premises with the appertainance unto Henry
Newkirk his heirs and assigns forever in as full and ample a manner to all intents and purposes as
he the said Samuel Sanderline Senior did might or could have held the same before the making hereof
and the said Samuel Sanderlin Doth hereby promise and Engage for himself his heirs Exr. Administrators
at the time of sealing and Delivery hereof that he the said Samuel Sanderlin is and stands seized of
the said Land and premises of and Indefeazeble Estate of Inheritance in Fee Simple and hath in himself
good right full power and Lawfull Authority to Grant Bargain sell convey and forever confirm the said
Land and premises and every part and parcel thereof with their & every of their appertainances unto the
said Henry Newkirk his heirs and assigns and that from time to thime and at all times forever hereafter
the said Henry Newkirk his heirs and assigns by power and virtue hereof may and shall enter unto have
hold use occupy possess and forever enjoy the said one hundred and five acres of Land free and clear
and freely and clearly acquitted discharged saved kept harmless and indemnifyed off and from all former
or other gifts grants bargains sales Enfeoffments wills intails jointers Dowers Executions Extents and
Incumberances whatsoever more over the said Samuel Sanderlin Doth for himself his heirs Executors and
Administrators Do promise and engage that at any time hereafter at the Reasonable Request of him the
said Henry Newkirk his heirs or assigns at his or their cost and charges in the Law make or cause to
be made and duly Execute any further or other deed or instrument of Writing for the sure making a good
and Lawfull title of the said on hundred and five acres of Land and premises to him the said Henry
Newkirk his heirs and assigns forever as he the said Henry Newkirk his heirs or assigns or his or their
councils Learned in the Law shall advise Devise or require further more the said Samuel Sanderlin Doth
hereby covenant and agree for himself his heris Excr. andministrators to and with the said Henry Newkirk
his heirs and assigns to warrant and forever Defend the title of the said one hundred and five acres of
Land to him the said Henry Newkirk his heirs or assigns free from the claim of him the said Samuel
Sanderlin his heirs Executors Administrators or assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever Laying
any Lawfull claim thereunto In witness whereof the said Samuel Sanderlin hereunto set his hand and seal
the Day and year first above written.
