Robert Cole To Thomas Cole
Deed of Gift
To all People to whom these presents shall come I Robert Cole do send Greeting. Know ye
that I the said Robert Cole of the parish of St. Gabriel in the County of Duplin and State
of North Carolina Hatter for and in consideration of the Love good will and affection which
I have and do Bear towards my beloved son Thomas Cole of the said parish & County I have
given four Cows and two year old Heafers one two year old steer one yearling heafer one
yearling steer one colf marked thus a smooth Cross and a slit in each ear and an under half
moon in each ear with a Nich under the half moon in the Lest year have given and granted &
by these presents do freely give and grant unto the said Thomas Cole his heirs Executors
administrators These particulars mentioned cattle now in possission and in the parish aforesaid
of which before the signing of these presents I have delivered him the said Thomas Cole an
inventory signed with my own hand and bearing even date to have & to hold the said Cattle
and all their increase except on beef a yeat to wards Receiving of him and given of him
schooling & further more & do bind myself to his heirs Executors administrators from time
forth as his and there proper cattle absolutely with out any manner of conditions in witness
whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal this ninth day of October one thousand seven
hundred and ninety.
