This Indenture Made the Tenth day of May in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand and seven
hundred and Ninety six Between Michael Glisson of the county of Duplin in the State of No Carolina
of the one part and Abel Deale of the same place of the other part Witnesseth---That the said Michael
Glisson for and in the consideration of the sum of one hundred and seven pounds ten shillings to him
in hands paid by the said Abel Deale the test whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and him self
therewith to be fully satisfied Contented and paid and of every part and parcel thereof both acquit and
discharge this said Able Deale his heirs Executors and administrators by these presents He the said
Michael Glisson hath bargained sold aliened enfeoffed Conveyed Confirmed assigned and set over
And by these presents by himself and his heirs Doth fully freely and absolutely give grant Bargain
Sell Alien Enfeoffed Convey Confirm Assign and Set over with the said Abel Deale and his heirs
and assigns forever the following survey lands and parcels of land (To wit) One part of fifty five
acres lying in the Said County of Duplin on the So side of the No East Marsh and on the East side
of the Miny branch including the place where the Said Abel Deale now lives as beginning at a poplar
on the said Branch and runs So 13 Et 88 poles

----thence So 77 Et 88 poles to a Blackjack thence No 13 Wt 88 poles to a poplar in the Miny
Branch thence to the beginning being the contents of a patent granted to Samuel Rogers_And one
other piece or parcel of land lying in Duplin County and joining the same Beginning at a blackjack
the corner of Samuel Rogers survey thence So 26 Et 86 poles to a Blackjack Goodwins corner of this
the said lands Jonathn Keatley now lives on thence So 70 West 60 poles to a lightwood stake in the
side of Bailies pocoson thence No 10 Wt 90 poles a black jack on Rogers line thence with his line
So 77 Et To the beginning Containing Twenty nine acres more or less part of a Tract of land patent
by George Smith also one other piece or parcel of land lying and being in Duplin County aforesaid
on the South side of the No Et Marsh and on both sides of the Miny branch Survey the said land
Deale now lives on by beginning at a poplar the beginning corner of Samuel Rogers survey
and run with his line No 77 Et 88 poles to a poplar his other corner thence crossing the
Miny Branch So 68 poles to a blackjack on James T Albersons line thence with his line No 68 wt
704 poles to a pine Albersons Corner thence So 88 wt with Rogers line 94 pole to a pine by Rogers
Corner thence with his other line So 8 Wt 52
poles to a gum in a small branch thence along George Smiths Old line So 166 poles to
a poplar his old corner in Miny branch thence So 13 Et 10 pole t a stake on the line thence
No 77 Et 118 pole to a stake on the patent line thence run along Rogers line to the beginning--------

Containing one hundred and ninety acres be it more or less being part of a patents of three hundred
acres granted to George Smith bearing the date of 29th of October 1789 which was all lands and
parcels of lands in the whole contains Two hundred and Seventy three runs together with all woods
existing water courses ways homes Buildings made improvements of every kind whatsoever and
all privileges benefits and advantages whatsoever thereof and thereunto in any wise appertaining
To have and to hold to him the said Abel Deale his heirs and assignees forever sole and
Singular the above granted and bargained Lands and premises with the appurtances thereunto
belonging or in anywise appertaining in as full and ample as manner as the said the said Michael
Glisson by his Titles to the same land as might enjoy and the revision or revisions Remainder or
Remainders Rent if was and profits thereof and all the Estate Right titles interest property claim
and Demand whatsoever of him the said Michael Glisson of in and to the same or any
part or parcel thereof and further the said Michael Glisson doth covenant promise and
agree to and with the said Abel Deale that at the time of sealing and delivery of these
presents the said Michael Glisson is the leasehold and lawful owner of the above bargained
lands and premises and hath in himself Good rightful power and lawful authority
To sell and convey the same to the said

Said Abel Deale in manner and form herein maintained and that the same now in so far
was hereafter shall remain and be free from all former or other gifts grants Bargains Sales
leases mortgages Judgments Executions and Incumbrances of every token or kind whatever had
made or committed by him the said Michael Glisson or every other person or persons
by or from him and the same will warrant and forever Defend from and against The just and lawful
Claim and Demand of any other person or persons Claiming any right title interest or property of and
in the same or every part or parcel thereof in witness whereof the said Michael Glisson
Hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written
