Merrit Manning To N Hall
Bill of Sale for three negros Hariot Mary & Lydia
received of Nicholas Hall one thousand dollars in full payment for three negros (To it)
Lydian and her two children Harriot & Mary Lydia about twenty one years of age Hariot about
four years of age Mary about fifteen Monts old which Negros I do warrent and forever defend
the Right and title to him the said Hall his heirs and assigns for ever from and against
the lawful claim of any person or persons what so ever in witness Where off I have here
unto a fix my hand & seal this 25 day of February 1818

State of North Carolina Duplin County Court of Pleas & Quarter sessions January Term 1840
It appearing to the court that Jethro Mashburn the subscribing witness to this bill of sale is
dead or removed out of the State & also that Merret Manning the granter is also dead the signture
of the said Merret Manning having been proved by the oath of James K Hill The bill of sale is
ordered to be registered
