To Deed 200 Acres
Edward Winders
This Indenture made this Twenty Eighth day of January in the year of our
Lord one thousand Eight hundred and one between John Winders Sr. of
the State of North Carolina and the County of Duplin of the one part and
Edward Winders of the county and state aforesaid of the other part
witnesses that for and in consideration of the sum of ninety five pound
lawful money of the state to John Winders in hand paid before the
sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt where of he doth
hereby acknowledge himself fully paid and satisfied hath given granted
bargained and sold and by them presents doth give grant bargain sell
convey and confirm unto the said Edward Winders his heirs and assigns
forever a certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the
county of Duplin and state aforesaid lying on the north side of Goshen
Swamp Bounded as follows. Beginning at a pine his old corner and runs
along his old line Wt 96 pole to a Black Jack James Grimes corner thence
along Grimes line So 20 Et one hundred thirty four poles to a pine So 70
Et 200 and forty pole to a stake on the said Winders own line thence along
his own line Wt 176 pole to a Black Jack on his other line and thence along
his other line So 84 pole to the Beginning Containing 200 acres of land it
being the contents of a patent grant to John Whitehead dated the 23rd of
September 1791 and sold to John Winders Sr. and now sold by the said
John Winders Sr. to Edward Winders as by the Deed doth appear to have
and to hold the said premises with all houses out houses ways water and
water curses profit and commodities heriditiments and appurtenances
whatsoever to the said premises belonging or in any wise appertaining and
the said Edward Winders his heirs and assigns forever shall and may from
time to time and at all times hereafter by free virtue of their presents lawfully
peaceably and quietly have hold occupy and enjoy the bargained premises
with all the appurtenances unto the same belonging or in any wise appertaining
freely and clearly acquit and discharge from all forever gifts grants bargains
sales leases wills mortgages or entails or any other encumbrances whatsoever
the taxes that may hereafter become due only excepted and I the said John
Winders for myself my heirs executors administrators and assigns forever
shall warrant and forever defend the above bargained premises unto the said
Edward Winders his heirs and assigns and every of them forever from the
lawful claim or claims of all manner of person or persons whatsoever in
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day date above
written signed sealed and delivered in presents of
