Sale Know all men by these presents that I John Winders of the County of Duplin and State of North Carolina for in consideration of the sum of twenty pounds lawful money of said state of him in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt he does hereby acknowledge have bargained, sold, released and granted and confirmed unto James Winders and his heirs a certain Negro boy hazard about 20 days old to have and to hold the said Negro boy by these presents bargained, sold , released, confirmed unto the said James Winders unto the only proper use and be hoof of him the said James Winders, his exec., his administrators, or assigns forever and as for the said John Winders Sr. for myself my executors and admin. To him the said James Winders, his exec. , admin., and assigns against me the said John Winders Sr. my exec. Adm and assigns and warrant all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof I the said John Winders have here made and set my hand and seal this 28th day of January in the year of our lord 1801 Signed sealed and Delvd.
