John Winders Grant 16 March 1799

(Transcribed by David Dunn) No. 1558 Granted to John Winders a Tract of Fifty Acres of land in Duplin County. The North side of Goshen. On both sides of Halls Marsh beginning at an Ashe in the East side of the Marsh Michael Sullivan’s Corner thence across the Swamp with his line No 30, Wt. 36 Poles to a large Sweet Gum his corner. Thence up Halls Marsh as the up land and the Marsh with Winders line along the main road about 270 poles to a pine said Winders lower corner of his other old survey. Thence across this Swamp down East 24 Poles to a bunch of Persimmon Trees. Thence down the East Edge said Marsh joining the dry land to the first station. Dated the 16th day of March in the 23rd year of our independence and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Nine. W. R. Davie James Dickson Regr.
