James Maxwell one hundred and forty six acres of land in Duplin
County on the west side of the North East River and on the No.
side of Maxwell swamp. Begining at a water oak in the mouth of a
small branch on the north edge of Stacking head, John Cranfords
second corner formerly John Whitmans. Thence cranfords line
South 45 Wt. 142 poles to a pine his corner, thence Plats old line
So. 55 Wt. 127 poles to two pines on the South edge of a branch
Platts 4th corner thence North 24 Wt. 60 poles to a pine Maxwells
corner formerly John Millers. Thence Maxwells and Routledges line
formerly John Millers No. 36 Et. 229 poles to a gum in Stocking head.
Thence down the No. side of stocking Head joining Ephraim
Garrasons and James Mills's line to the begining.
