John James two hundred and eight four acres of land in Duplin County
No. side of Phaiezes creek a branch of Rockfish. Begiing at a gum
in the swamp edge. Thence to and with Jacob newtons old line No.
140 pole to a pine. Thence Newtons other line So. 60 Et. 60 pole to
a stake by a red oak stump. Thence his other line No. 30 Et. 88
poles to a pine his corner. Thence on or nigh the open line No. 20
Wt. 140 poles to a pine thence by the edge of a bay No. 50 Et. 150
poles to a pine by a branch, thence down said branch So. 30 Et. 50
pole to a pine. Thence So. 10 West 94 pole to a pine on Walkers
line. Thence his line So. 30 Wt. 26 pole to a pine thence his other line
So. 5 Et. 156 pole to a stake on Aldermans line thence his line No. 80
Wt. 36 poles to a pine his corner thence his other line So. 20 Wt. 82
pole to a maple on the swamo edge, then the same course through
the swamp 40 pole to a stake thence up the South edge the swamp
until a point due North strikes the begining. Thence to the first
station.
