James Murray Senr. To James Murray junr.
Deed for 100 acres lands
This indenture made this day of in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred
and eighty seven. Between James Murray senr, and James Murray junr. both of the County and
province aforesaid. Witnesseth that he the said James Murray Senr. for and in consideration
of the sum of sixty pounds specie to him in hand paid by the aforesaid James Murray junr. the
receipt whereof he the said James Murray Senr. doth hereby acknowledge himself to be therewith
fully contented satisfied & paid and of every part thereof doth fully freely & absolutely
acquit exonorate and discharge him the said James Murray junr. his heirs and assigns forever,
have given granted bargained sold & by these presents do fully freely and absolutely give grant
bargain sell alienate enfeoffe convey assign & forever make over and confirm unto him the said
James Murray junr. his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land whereon the said James
Murray junr. now lives, sittuate lying & being in the Counry & province aforesaid lying and
being on the North East side of the No. Et. Branch of Cape Fear River, containing one hundred
acres more or less. Begining at a red oak in the said James May's line between his plantation
& Ratliff's Branch, thence up the branch to a black gum by a spring near the old Meetin House,
thence No. 70 Et. by the survey line to a small pine, a corner tree between the said James
Murray Senr. & Jesse Murray's former line, thence by a dividing line to William Picket's out
corner between him and the said James Murray, thence along his line to a pine on a branch side
between the said Picket's & Murray's plantation, thence down the said Branch to the survey
line of the above said land, thence South by a course of the patten to a maple on the Mill
Branch, thence up the mill dam to the aforesaid James Murray;s senr. survey (a line) thence
down his line to the begining. To have and to hold unto the said James Murray his heirs &
assigns forever, togeather with all the appurtenances premises & previledges thereunto & to
the only proper use & benefit and behoofe of him the said James Murray junr. his heirs and
assigns forever, & the said James Senr. doth for himself his heirs executors & admns. covenant
grant & agree to and with the said James Murray junr. his heirs and assigns that he & they
should from time to time & at all times forever hereafter use occupie possess & enjoy the
aforesaid bargained premises & every part and parcel thereof without the least interuption
molestation or hinderance of him the said James Murray Senr. his heirs or assigns or any other
person or persons whatsoever, and further that he the said James Murray Senr. his heirs exrs.
adms. & assigns shall and will from time to time and at all times forever hereafter made do
and execute at the reasonable of him the said James Murray junr. his heirs or assigns all such
further conveyance and assurance in the law for the more perfect assuring & conveying the
aforesaid land and premises unto the said James Murray junr. his heirs and assigns forever as
by the said James Murray's attorney learned in the law shall be devises advised or required,
and lastly that he the said James Murray Senr. his heirs exrs. adms. shall and will forever
hereafter warrant and defend the aforesaid piece of land with the appurtenances premises and
previledges thereunto belonging or in any ways appertaining unto him the said James Murray
his heirs exers. & admns. assigns against all manner of former or other gifts grants sails
leases uses wills dowerys entails covenants mortgages or judgments or other incumbrances of
what nature or kind secured by me the said James Murray or any other person or persons
whatsoever whomesoever laying any lawfull clame thereunto or any part or parcel thereof in
as full and ample a manner as any lands are holden in this State. In witness whereof I the
said James Murray senr. have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this day & year above
written.
