James Morris To William Beck
Bill of sale for one negro
Received of William Beck this 28th of December 1786, the sum of sixty eight
pounds ten shillings & fifty barrels of good merchanable corn, to be delivered at my
hands, for a negro fellow called Jacob, which said negro fellow I warrant and defend
from any person or persons laying any clame or claims whatever for the said negro, I
bind myself my heirs executors & admns. & assigns, to warrant & defend the said negro
unto the said William Beck he his heirs & assigns forever, against any person laying
any claim or claims to the said negro fellow called Jacob. In witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand & seal the day and year first above written.

Then was the within Bill of sale acknowledged in open Court by James Morris & ordered
to be registered.
