(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 443, 444, & 445 James Lanier To Jacob Lanier Deed 300 acres The State of No. Carolina Duplin County This Indenture made this seventh day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one and in the fifteenth year of our Independence Between Jacob Lanier and James Lanier both of the said County and State aforesaid Witnesseth that he the said James Lanier for an in Consideration of the sum of ninety pounds specie to him in hand paid by the said Jacob Lanier the Receipt whereof he the said James Lanier hereby doth acknowledge himself to be therewith fully contented satisfied and paid and every part thereof doth fully freely and absolutely acquit Exonerate and Discharge him the said Jacob Lanier his heirs and assigns forever I have given granted bargained sold and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell alienate Enfeoffe Convey assign and forever make over and Confirm unto him the said Jacob Lanier his heirs and assigns a certain Plantation Tract or parcel of Land Containing three hundred acres according to Patten the said Land being Patened by Zachariah Gurganes bearing date July the Eleventh 1788 lying and being in our County of Duplin on the No. of Cypress Creek Beginning at a white oak in the bent of said Creek at the Edge of the Swamp at the Lower of end Moses neck thence No. 110 pole to a small pine thence Et. 310 pole to a pine near a pond thence So. 155 poles thence Wt. 310 poles thence No. 45 poles to the first station to have and to hold unto the said Jacob Lanier his heirs and assigns forever together with all Improvments appurtainances and previledges thereunto and to the only proper use benefit and behalf of him the said Jacob Lanier his heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever and the said James Lanier doth for himself and his heirs Executors and administrators doth Covenant grant and agree to and with him the said Jacob Lanier his heirs and assigns that he and they shall from time to time and at all times forever hereafter hold use occupy and Enjoy the aforesaid Bargained premises and every part and parcel thereof without the Least Interruption molestation or hindrance of him the said James Lanier his heirs or assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever and Farther that he the said James Lanier his heirs Executors administrators or assigns shall and will from time to time and at all times forever hereafter make do and Execute at the Reasonable of him the said Jacob Lanier his heirs or assigns all such farther conveyances and assurance in the Law for the more perfect asshuring and Conveying the aforesaid Land and premises unto the said Jacob Lanier his heirs and assigns forever and by the said Jacob Lanier Etorney Learned in the Law shall be Devised advised or required and Lastly that he the said James Lanier his heirs Executors Administrators shall and will forever hereafter warrant and Defend the aforesaid piece of Land with the appurtainances premises and previledges thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the said Jacob Lanier his heirs Executors administrators and assigns against all manner of former or other gifts Grants Sales Leases uses wills Dowers Entails Covenants Mortgages or Judgements or other Incumbrances what nature or kind soever by me the said James Lanier or any person or persons whatsoever or whomsoever Laying Lawfull Claim thereunto or any part or parcel thereof in as full and ample a manner as any Lands are holden in this State. In witness whereof I the said James Lanier have hereunto set my hand and fixt my seal the day and year above written. Signed Sealed and Delivered In the presence of James Lanier Benjamin Lanier S.
