Deed Book 5, pp260-2) Isaac Hunter To William Hunter 200 This Indenture made this 12th day of February in the year of our lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and seventy four 1774 and in the fourteenth year of the Reign of our sovereign lord George the Third By the Grace of God of great Brittain France and Ireland King defender of the Faith &c. Between Page 261. Between Isaac Hunter of the County of Duplin and province of North Carolina of the One part and William Hunter of the same province and County aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Isaac Hunter for divers good Causes and Considerations him thereunto having But more especially for and in consideration of the valuable sum of Twenty Five pounds proclamation money to him in hand payed or secured to be paid before the ensealing and delivery hereof the Receipt Whereof he doth Acknowledge and himself Therewith to be fully satisfied and content and thereof and therefore doth hereby acquit the aforesaid William Hunter his heirs Executors administrators or assigns Hath Bargained sold Enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and by these presents for himself his heirs Executors and administrators Hath and doth fully truly and absolutely Bargain sell Enfeoff convey and forever confirm unto the said William Hunter his heirs and Assigns One Certain tract or parcel of land Containing by Estimation Two Hundred acres be the same more or less situated lying and Being in the aforesaid province and County and on West side of the North East of Cape Fear river on a branch thereof Nown By the Name of the Galsters open Beginning at a water Oak on the Run of the open swamp Running thence North 37 West 60 pole to a Black Oak on the Edge of a branch Thence up the same North 36 pole to a Black Oak thence South 50 West 74 pole to a white Oak thence South 70 West 140 pole to a Hickory thence South 13 West 38 pole to an ash on the run of the swamp Then down the various courses thereof to the first Station. To Have and to Hold the said Two Hundred acres of land and premises with the appurtainances Unto the said William Hunter his heirs and assigns forever in as full and ample manner to all intents and purposes as he the said Isaac Hunter did might or could have Held the same before the making hereof and I the said Isaac Hunter doth hereby promise and engage for himself his heirs Executors and administrators that at the time of sealing and delivery hereof that he the said Isaac Hunter is and Stands seized of the said lands and premises of an Indefeazable Estate of Inheritance in fee Simple and hath himself good Right full power and lawfull authority to grant Bargain sell Convey and forever confirm the said land and premises with the appurtainances Unto the said William Hunter his heirs and assigns and that from time to time and at all times forever hereafter He shall enter into Have Hold use Occupy possess and enjoy the said Two hundred acres of land and premises free and clear and truly and Clearly acquited discharged saved Kept harmless and Indemnified of and from all former or other gifts grants Bargains sails entailments Wills entails Indentures dowaries Executions Estery and incumbrances Whatsoever the Quit Rents which shall hereafter become due for the same only (Excepted) moreover the said Isaac Hunter doth for himself his heirs Executors & administrators Warrant and defend the said Two Hundred acres of land to him the said William Hunter His Heirs And assigns forever free from the lawfull Claim of him the said Isaac Hunter his heirs Executors and administrators or any other person or persons Whatsoever And also the said Isaac Hunter doth consent and agree for himself his heirs Executors and administrators to and with said William Hunter his heirs & assigns Page 262. That at any time hereafter at the Reasonable Request of him the said William Hunter his heirs and assigns and at his or their cost and charges in the law he the said Isaac Hunter his heirs Executors or administrators shall and will make or cause to be made and duly Granted any further or other deed or instrument of writing for the same making the title of the said Two hundred acres of land and premises to him the said William Hunter his heirs or assigns forever as he or they or his or their Counsel learned in the Law shall advise devise or Require In Witness Whereof the said Isaac Hunter hath Hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above Written.
