Bill of Sale 2 negroes
State of No. Carolina
Duplin County
Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Kenan of the County and State aforesaid Hath
for an in Consideration of the natural and affection which I Bear unto my Grandson Owen Kenan (son of James
Kenan) and my Grand Daughter, Susanah Kenan Daughter of James Kenan do give and grant unto my said Grand son
Owen Kenan one negroe girl called Betty and unto my Grand daughter Susanah Kenan one negroe Boy Called Giffery
to them and their heirs and assigns forever I do by these presents warrant and forever will Defend the said
negroes unto the said Owen and Susanah against the Lawfull claim or Claims of any person or persons whatsoever.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13th day of October 1789.
