E Alderman To Joab Johnston

State of North Carolina Duplin County
This Indenture made the 31st day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight
hundred and thirty nine Between Enoch Alderman of the aforesaid State & County of the
one part and Joab Johnston of said State and County of Sampson of the other part witnesseth
that the said Enoch Alderman for and in consideration of the sum of Elevin dollars to
him in hand paid by said Joab Johnston the Receipt where is hereby acknowledged hath
bargained sold and confirmed and by these presents do bargain sell and confirm unto the
said Joab Johnson a certain piece or parcil of Land situated in the aforesaid County on
the south side through and across the Doctors Creek lying most all in said Creek joining
the land of John Alderman deed and the land of Morris Fennel Deed Begining at a forked
pine on the south side of said Creek and runing thence No 10 Et 32 poles to a Blakc gum
in the Edge of said on the North side thence down by the edge of said swamp So 84 Et 44
poles to a Sweet by the Edge of an old field thence So 40 Et 20 poles to a pine thence
No 75 Et 45 poles to a pine in said John Aldermans Deed line thence with said line South
4 poles to a black gum in the North side of said Creek thence south 73 wt 40 poles to a
sassafras in the swamp thence south 30 wt 9 poles to a pine in said Creek thence so 86 Wt
66 poles to the Begining corner containing Elevin acres be the same more or Less which
tract or parcil of land with all the improvements priveledges and apurtenances thereunto
belonging the said Enoch Alderman for him self his heirs Extrs Adms and assigns doth hereby
warrant and defend of all persons claims or demands whatever whatever unto the said Joab
Johnson his heirs and assigns forever Intestimony whereof he the said Enoch Alderman hath
hereunto set his hand and seal the day & date above written In presence of
