22 Feb 1805 Duplin Deed Book 4A p.33 

Thomas (X) Bell of Duplin Co.to Joshua Blanton of Sampson Co., 
for 300 pds. good & lawful money of N.C.207 A part of
a tract of land formerly belonging to John Bell, the father of Thomas 
Bell, on the waters of Rockfish, beg.at a maple at the run of Goff's 
Beaverdam, runs thence as the dividing line between John Bell & 
Thomas Bell, to a poplar in a prong of Black Branch. (Jane Bell 
also signed the deed.) 
Wit: Peter Carlton, William Ward July Ct. 1809.
