No. 1249
Granted to Amos Johnston fifty acres of land in Duplin County on the East side of the North
East branch of Cape Fear River and on the upperside of Cypress Creek. Begining at a water
oak and bay on the creek bank and runs thence No. 45 East 94 poles to a water oak the corner
of a survey of 425 acres that was patented by Robert Lane. Thence as Lands old line So. 63
Et. 88 poles to a bunch of Sweet bay saplings. Thec Dividing Corner between James & John
Lanier. Thence South 45 Wt. 40 poles to the swamp. Thence the same course continued eighty
poles to the creek. Thence down the same as it meanders to the first station
