Abslam Mercer & Joshua Mercer To William Hubbard
Deed 200 acres
This Indenture made this first day of March and in the year of our Lord Christ one
Thousand seven hundred and ninety. Between Abslom Mercer and Joshua Mercer on the one part
and William Hubbard on the other part all of the County of Duplin and state of North Carolina
Planter. It Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds in hand
well and Truly paid by the aforesaid Hubbard before the Ensealing and Delivery of these
presents. The Receipt whereof we doth acknowledge ourselves to be fully satisfied contented
and paid for Every part and parcel thereof doth aquit and discharge the aforesaid William
Hubbard his heirs Executors administrators and assigns Have given granted conveyed and
confirmed unto the said William Hubbard his heirs and assigns forever a certain Tract or
parcel of Land situate lying and being in Duplin County on the East side of the north East
of Cape Fare and south side of poley branch on both sides of Indian run Begining at a marked
pine in or near poley Brance where the main Road Crosses and runs up the various Courses of
the Branch till it strikes David Grears line then near a south course to a corner pine in
said Grears line Thence a west course to John Mercers corner thence west 105 pole to a pine
thence No. 80 pole to John Mer Corner Then Et. 100 pole to his other corner thence north 160
pole to Mercers old corner and from thence to the Begining in all to conclude two hundred
acres be the same more or less which Land was Patened by John Mercer and Abslam Mercer
paten bearing Date October 1762 Reference being had may fully appear. To have and to hold
the aforesaid premises as above Described unto him the William Hubbard his Heirs administrators
and assigns free of all former gifts grants of Incumbrance of any nature or kind whatsoever
and all the profits and benefits belonging. Either in Law of Equity unto the said William
Hubbard his heirs and assigns forever more to his and their only proper use and behoofe
forever and we the said Abslam Mercer and Josat Mercer for our selves and Exects. of our
heirs Executors administrators and assigns will forever warrant and Defend the said Land
and premises against the Lawfull claim of any person or persons whatsoever unto him the said
Hubbard his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof we the said Abslam Mercer and
Josay Mercer have hereby set our hands and afixt our seals the day and year first above
written and mentioned.
