1st Co. C, 36th Regt. N. C. T. (2nd Regt. N. C. Art.)

Born in Duplin County where he resided as a farmer and
enlisted in New Hanover County at age 19, April 16, 1861
for twelve months.  Discharged at Camp Hedrick, New
Hanover County, April 25, 1862 by reason of "rheumatism
of a chronic character."
