Treatment of Cuts
This is a homemade remedy told to me by my Maternal Grandfather Pervie Carroll Brinson. (1914-1988)
He stated his mother used to do this to treat any cuts she thought were deep and to keep
them from having to get stitched up.
Scrub cut with lye soap and water
Pour turpentine all over cut to clean the soap out
Wrap clean cobwebs around cut to hold skin together
Finish with clean rags wrapped around cut to keep cobwebs clean and dry.
Change bandages and repeat turpentine and cobweb dressings until healed.
