The Magnolia Baptist Church was originally organized as the Beaverdam Baptist Church, located east of Magnolia in the Beaverdam schoolhouse in 1835. Church was held at this location till 1846, when the church was moved across the road from the school. In 1872,they moved the church to its present location in Magnolia. In July of 1874 the name was changed to Magnolia Baptist Church. It was decided by church members to build a new building in April of 1920 and the present building was started in 1921. Major renovations were done on it in 1984. The educational building was added in 1969. Today in 2011 the church continues to thrive and grow.
