William Ward II
A History of Alfred and Elizabeth Ward, Edition I, records that William Ward,
Revolutionary War soldier (1753-1836) married Mary Bell of Sampson County.
They had the following children: William Ward II, who moved to Thomas Co., GA;
Robert Ward, who married Sarah Ann Alderman, moved to Thomas Co., GA; Nancy
Ward, married Thomas Carlton of Duplin Co., they moved to Thomas Co., GA;
Sophia Ward,married Thomas White, settled in the Thomas Co., GA area; Samuel
Ward, married Mary Robinson, remained in Sampson Co., NC; Alfred Ward, married
Elizabeth Robinson, remained in Sampson Co., NC.
It is the William Ward II that I am interested in, and whom I believe may be
the father of, or otherwise related to, Elijah Ward, b. about 1818 in GA. I
have located a William Ward in the general south Georgia area about the time
of Elijah's birth and have located Elijah as early as 1843 in Houston Co., GA
and then in 1850 in Thomas Co., GA. Am seeking information specifically on
William Ward II, who moved to Thomas Co., GA or any of his siblings (Robert,
Nancy, Sophia) who also moved from the Duplin/Sampson Co., NC area to Thomas
Co., GA in the early 1800s. I have located other Wards who descend from the
above family in Thomas Co., GA. at later dates.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
